📋 Exclusions During the First Policy Year

The following conditions are not covered during the first year, regardless of whether they occur before or after the policy takes effect:

Respiratory system:

• Adenoiditis requiring removal, sinusitis, nasal septum deviation

• Bronchitis, bronchiolitis, pneumonia, asthma (subject to 6-month waiting period for children up to 6 years old)

Ear conditions:

• Otitis media requiring surgery, pharyngeal tumors, nasal bone removal

Circulatory system:

• Phlebitis, varicose veins, carpal tunnel syndrome, lymph node disorders, hemorrhoids

Metabolic disorders:

• Biochemical or metabolic imbalances such as high blood lipids, liver enzymes, calcium levels

Musculoskeletal disorders:

• Chronic arthritis, spinal degeneration, herniated discs, bone density disorders, gout

Digestive system:

• Stomach and duodenal ulcers

Other:

• Kidney stones, cysts, warts, moles, vestibular disorders

⏳ Waiting Periods

The policy becomes effective after the following waiting periods from the date stated on the Certificate of Insurance:

• 30 days for illness (including the onset and duration of treatment)

• 90 days for maternity complications

• 1 year for pre-existing conditions and specified exclusions in Clause 36

• 1 year for special diseases as defined in the terms

• 6 months for children under 6 years old: bronchitis, bronchiolitis, pneumonia

📝 Eligibility Criteria

Eligible individuals include:

• Vietnamese citizens or foreign residents in Vietnam, aged from 15 days to 65 years old at the policy start date

• Those aged 60 to 65 must have enrolled continuously since age 60

Children under 18 years old may only enroll if:

• A parent also has an active health or medical insurance policy with Bao Viet

• The dependent's coverage level must be equal to or lower than that of the insured parent

Children aged 15 days to 4 years:
Inpatient and outpatient benefits are subject to a co-payment of 70/30 (Bao Viet pays 70%, the insured pays 30%, within the policy limit)
